Waiting for Max by Emily Rosen, illustrated by Esther Diana
I was introduced to Emily through a mutual friend earlier this year, and I couldn’t believe how enthusiastic my boys were about how much they loved the story after reading it! It’s incredibly well-written and not at all didactic. Emily really didn’t skimp one bit on children’s entertainment and enjoyment in the writing of this book. I hope it gave them insight and empathy into the NICU stories we have heard in our own lives. I’ll definitely be buying and gifting this to any friends who have to navigate a NICU with another kiddo at home in the future.
