Love is my antidote to fear and gratitude a key to unlocking it.

Thankful by Elaine Vickers has been in my top five favorite kids books since I found it three years ago, and our practice of adding links to a gratitude chain every day in November that was born from it is probably my favorite annual tradition. I can’t wait to open it up every year on Nov 1 and read its perfectly poetic lines that add an extra cozy layer to our home.

For years I’ve had an almost-daily text thread running with three girlfriends where we all send the top 8 things we are grateful for each day. It’s been a gift to lean on when the world is loud and when we are navigating the highs and lows of our lives. And I hope that passing on nervous system regulation tools to my kids it took me decades to develop will have a domino effect on the world around them.
